How to Pay for a Passport
The U.S. Department of State will accept credit cards and debit cards as well as checks (personal, certified, cashiers, travelers) as long as it is payable to “Department of State.” If you’re going to apply for a passport at your local post office, be sure to obtain all the paperwork you need and come prepared with a checkbook or credit/debit card.
