Do you love your job? Now here’s a second question: are you doing what you’re passionate about? For some people, making money by doing something they’re passionate about isn’t important – take cooking or gardening for example. You might really enjoy these two activities, but opening a restaurant or selling vegetables may not be something you want to do.
You have to admit, there’s just something awesome about making money by doing something you’re passionate about. I did a quick search for the ‘most rewarding jobs’ and saw something interesting with the list. I personally know people, who have held a job in each of these areas, and it was evident that most were passionate about what they did – and they really enjoyed their job! Here’s the list:
1. Clergy
2. Physical Therapist
3. Firefighter
4. School Principal
5. Artist (Fine Arts)
6. Teacher
7. Author
8. Psychologist
9. Special Education Teacher
10. Construction Machinery Operator
I haven’t worked full time in these ‘top 10’ most satisfying jobs, but I still think that my job is rewarding. I enjoy working with people, discussing financial questions, and finding solutions for people who are starting their retirement savings late in life. For me it just started as an interest, but soon grew into a passion. I love helping people with financial issues and it’s one of the reasons why I started Faith and Finance.
I’m convinced that you can enjoy some aspects of your job, but still not have a passion for it. So my question to you is this: what are you passionate about?
Now I’m not suggesting that you quit your day job right away to pursue your passion. It’s just a question to get you thinking about what you really love to do in life. Once you narrow down your passion – what really drives you – then you can start to explore ways to earn income through it.
So what is it that you love to do?
