Elizabeth Grace Matthew is a freelance writer focusing on culture, politics, and religion, and a practicing Catholic. Her work has appeared in America Magazine, The Hill, FemCatholic, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. She is also a Writing Fellow at America’s Future. Before turning to writing full-time, Matthew worked in higher education for more than a decade. Until 2022, she was the Associate Director of Curriculum Development and Instruction at the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies, where she ran an online degree program in Leadership and Communication. Before that, she was an Assistant Professor of Practice at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, where she taught Business Communication. She holds a bachelor’s in English from The University of Pennsylvania, a master’s in English from Penn State, and a doctorate in Education from St. Joseph’s University.
