Melania and Heidi

Melania and Heidi March 24, 2016
These two ladies have caused me to wonder one thing: Which one presents as though she’s loved, protected, uplifted, and valued – for her whole person, not only her appearance? Because she’s the one with a husband who knows how to treat women in a way that is truly empowering.
Being a sex model only empowers men to lust. Posing nude seems as if it would be empowering to the woman posing, but in reality, it’s degrading and it allows and invites men to do the degrading. She’ll make a pretty penny, and lose her soul in the process. And that, friends, is just yuck. And by yuck, I mean a complete waste.
I don’t know Melania or Heidi, but as their fellow female, I know what I want for both of them. I want them to be valued. Not because they’re beautiful (and they both are). But because they’re humans with beautiful minds, talents, and mad potential. They, like every man and woman out there, are made in God’s image. Everyone deserves respect, and only one of these ladies is getting the esteem due her.
“A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown….” That’s what Proverbs 12:4 tells us. And in spite of what our culture says, displaying our bodies for all to see is not indicative of nobility, bravery, or outstanding character. Every husband has a “crown” that reflects who he is. Melania is a crown poised as reserved, afraid to speak for fear of saying something stupid, and a mere porcelain doll on a shelf for all to see. That *may* mean her husband is domineering, narcissistic, greedy, and rude. Heidi is a crown poised as confident, clothed, and valued – as a person, not a body. That *may* mean her husband is kind, respectful, protective, and empowering in the true sense of the word. That is what I see from afar. It’s a judgment call, but what are elections for? I choose Cruz. And I choose him (in part) because I’m a woman who wants to be valued and respected, not demeaned and belittled – and that is how he treats the woman by his side.
Like it or lump it, one of these two men could be our next POTUS. What that means is that every American woman, in one way or another, will be under the leadership of either a man who cherishes women or spews offensive, derogatory verbiage about women.
Our choice – literally!
