Ladies, we’re car shopping.
It’s kind of overwhelming.
We’re in the market for a family vehicle that will last us about 10 years or slightly more.
We know we want more than two kids, which means we need something that seats more than five, what with the fact that you can only fit two car seats in a five seater. Which leaves us with crossovers and minivans.
We’ve decided minivan.
We like the Honda Odyssey, but not the Toyota Sienna.
See the thing with the Odyssey is that we want something that’s two years old or less, and most of the available Odyssey(s) are the mid level models, which price at over 30,000 with 25 or 30,000 miles on it! That’s crazy y’all.
Also, I want the power doors, windows, liftgate. I want the backup camera since I’ll be driving something bigger than what I’m used to.
SO. We can’t afford a new Odyssey that has those features and all of the certified pre-owned that have them are still around 30,000!
We’re now looking at the Chrysler Town and Country, Volkswagen Routan, and (maybe) Dodge Grand Caravan.
We found a pretty sweet Volkswagen (2011, less than 2,000 miles, all my features, and the dvd player) in Ohio that we’re going to look at this weekend.
We test drove the 2012 Town and Country last weekend. It is so sweet. Fancy, oh my goodness, it’s the nicest car I’ve ever been in, let alone driven.
We’re currently driving a 1997 Dodge Caravan and let me just say, minivans have come a long way since 1997.
We’re going to check out the Grand Caravan this week before we go to Ohio to see the Routan.
But I am in.love with the Town and Country. It’s so pretty.
If you have a Town and Country, Routan, or Grand Caravan, I’d love to know what you think!
I’ll be sure to let you all know which one we decide on.
