Acts 27: Leadership without a Title

Acts 27: Leadership without a Title

Acts 27 chronicles the incredible shipwreck account of the apostle Paul as he was transported from his jail sentence in Jerusalem to Rome. As a prisoner, he had no status, no position, yet God used him powerfully.

How exactly? First, Paul saved the lives of the prisoners on the ship through his influence and advice. The guards had planned to kill them, most of the 276 passengers on board. This alone is a major accomplishment.

Second, Paul offered spiritual direction. He knew life was more than what is seen and shared about his prayers, God’s response, and God’s plan for their lives.

As we live our day, we may be dealing with a storm of our own. Regardless of your position, we have the opportunity to help others because of Christ in us. Let us not forget that it is not about who we are, but who lives in us, who determines our influence.
