Ephesians 6: Be Strong

Ephesians 6: Be Strong September 1, 2011

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” -Ephesians 6:10

The Christian faith is anything but weak. It’s early leaders were beaten and beheaded, marked and martyred. These were men and women serious about living for God. As Paul encouraged, they were to “Be strong in the Lord.”

We can be strong in the Lord because our God is a powerful God. When he believe in Christ, his Spirit lives in us. We share in his power. This doesn’t quite make us superheroes, but it does provide strength to stand against Satan and evil spirits. We no longer live in fear; we live by faith, with boldness, and with strength.

Lance Armstrong has made a name for himself with many wearing his “Live Strong” yellow bracelets. Yet there is one who has endured far more pain and has shown even greater resilience–our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us remember his life and seek to not only live strong, but to be strong, in him.
