Genesis 37: God’s Imperfect Perfect Plan

Genesis 37: God’s Imperfect Perfect Plan 2012-02-21T12:08:57-05:00

“Meanwhile, the Midianites sold Joseph in Egypt to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard.” -Genesis 37:36

God’s plans are definitely not like our plans. When God wanted to start a nation, he used a hundred year old man to father a child and then sent his great-grandson into slavery in Egypt. The immediate story was that Joseph’s brothers were jealous and sold him into slavery. The larger story was one that saved the lives of Joseph’s family and would result in the creation of the nation of Israel.

We don’t like to think of God using slavery to do something good. But God can use anything, even evil, to accomplish his plans. I call it God’s imperfect perfect plan. He knows we will fail yet uses us anyway. He understands we are inadequate yet makes us adequate. When we are weak, he is strong.

Don’t like where you are in life today? God is still God. He still has a plan. He’s still there with you. Keep walking with him no matter where the path leads. He will never let you go.
