Ways to respect and appreciate other faiths

“We all have the same God, we just serve him differently. Rivers, lakes, ponds, streams, and oceans all have different names, but they all contain water. So do religions have different names, and they all contain truth, expressed in different ways forms, and times. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Muslim, a Christian, or a Jew. When you believe in God, you should believe that all people are part of one family. If you love God, you can’t love only some of his children.”- Muhammad Ali

Being tolerant of others and their religious perspectives is our duty as Christians. We are set apart from the world, and we as Christians must let our deeds and actions represent us. Our tolerance is not supposed to look anything like a nonbeliever.

True Tolerance

As Christians, we should be practicing “True Tolerance” by faithfully Serving the God of Truth. Our belief is based on faith therefore, tolerance must override faith. An ancient maxim reads, “About matters of taste, there is no disputing…”

Being tolerant of someone else’s religion also means respecting it.

How can you Respect someone else’s religion?

Being Respectful of one another;s faith is a blessing.

You can do your research on that particular religion and Culture. See if you can find a commonality between your faiths. Make an effort to be receptive and open to talk about their faith, and respectfully ask questions.

We are blessed to be able to share a world with so many different cultures and religions. May God continue to grant you His love and mercy so that you may bask in His True Tolerance. -Amen
