Communion | Harvest Celebration

Communion | Harvest Celebration

The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ?  The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?  Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread. – 1 Corinthians 10.16-17, ESV

We took communion last Sunday, so I thought it would be good to take a break from the Today series in Hebrews to invite you to the table.

I hope you enjoy listening in to this brief vlog.

Communion | Harvest Celebration

I pastor at Long Lake Friends Church in Traverse City, Michigan with a phenomenal crew of people.  On November 10, 2019 the congregation took the time to host a Harvest Celebration for the community and a Welcoming Service for the Ingle family.  It was amazing to see all the committees and teams pull together, to witness the energy rise in the congregation in the weeks leading up to the event, to see a packed house, and to watch the congregation welcome new and old friends to the service and fellowship afterwards.

We have communion on the second Sunday of every month.  To be honest, we had so much planned for the day that we almost removed communion from the agenda.  However, after some reflection we thought that there could be no better time to celebrate communion than with those who would be joining us from the community.  It certainly was a wonderful part of the service to see people gathering at the Lord’s Table, some of them I’ve known from the community, professing their faith in this simple yet mysterious act.

I hope you enjoy taking time to watch or listen in to this brief vlog.

God be with you,

Pastor Jared
