I have really been at a loss because America is not what I remember. We’ve lived in 7 states and we have not witnessed what we’re witnessing now. I grew up as a minority in my schools, but I haven’t witnessed the kind of things we’re witnessing now in America.

Righteousness & America
There have been times in my life when I have practiced sermons. I hardly ever come into the church and practice here, or practice at home multiple times. However, this one has been so heavy on my heart and on my spirit that I have practiced it several times.
I never write out my sermons. I usually have an outline form for my message to give myself a little wiggle room to throw in a few jokes. However, this time I basically have written it out. It’s almost like an essay.
I have been torn with it, the last couple weeks especially. I have really been at a loss because America is not what I remember. We’ve lived in 7 states and we have not witnessed what we’re witnessing now. I grew up as a minority in my schools, but I haven’t witnessed the kind of things we’re witnessing now in America.
I just believe that it’s time for the church to wake up. As I prayed with the worship team before we started, I prayed that this weekend would be one of those weekends that would stir the sleeping bear, sleeping giant, whatever you want to call us. I prayed that we would just wake up and realize what we do have . . . that we have it good here in America.
