2 Sermons: Ephesians iv.25-32

2 Sermons: Ephesians iv.25-32

Preview from the 2nd Sermon: All said and done, I really like the King James here: “Hot Displeasure” (Psalm 6.1). Lord, don’t chastise me in thy hot displeasure! That speaks to me of the Spirit sorrowing over us as Paul says, or in your translation “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 4.30). He may not be as mad at us as we might think He is, or maybe as David thinks He is at that moment. We may need to pray prayers to reconnect to the Holy Spirit, but maybe the Holy Spirit is just weeping over us.

Ephesians iv.25-32
JCIngle YouTube

This one is just a quick setup.  It’s the last two sermons I’ve preached from Ephesians 4.  The first one starts in Ephesians 4.25 and the second one ends at verse 32.  The first and second one both have a marker at the ten minute point, where I shift into some deeper teachings.

Ephesians iv.25-27

The first one has to do with teachings on anger, different types of anger as described in the Bible by Paul.  It also deals with ways that anger can affect us psychologically.  I do have a little bit of background with that with my marriage and family and counseling studies.  I’ve done a little integration in the first one.  I hope it’s something you can enjoy listening to, and that you can draw from.

Ephesians iv.29-32

This second video that you’re going to be watching will hopefully be a little inspiring.  I’m basically dealing with the topic of the allusions of the rabbis throughout passages and Scriptures.  I’m trying to dissect a lot of what Paul is working through in the last half of Ephesians 4.  He was known as a rabbi, someone who had converted to Christianity, and he brought his teaching style into the Christian faith.  As with the last one, there is a marker at the ten minute point.  Then you’ll start to hear what we need to be doing, not only as Christians, but also in community.
