True Customer Service

True Customer Service

Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him. (Matthew 20:29-34 NKJV)

How you ever been treated to real good service like these blind men?

How do we see service today? We complain because the waiter is later with the food. The cashier clerk takes took long. The focus of service is on me. Yet Jesus said that service is not about me. It is about others.

Why did this miracle occur here? Probably to show the “Sons of Thunder” how blind they were. The sons thought that they would have power (Matthew 19:28, 20:21). Jesus taught them that power and authority are not worth much in God’s economy. Service is.

The two blind men learned more about service when they follow Jesus. They had received real customer service from the Ultimate Customer Service Representative – Jesus. We should learn from the example of Jesus. It is better to serve than be served. But this can only happen when we see how Jesus has served us.
