We Share the Same Original Family
We Share the Same Original Family is a science watch reflection from Genesis 9:18-19 about the fact that there is one race and that we come from one family, genetically.
“Noah’s sons who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan. These three were Noah’s sons, and from them, the whole earth was populated.” (Genesis 9:18–19, HCSB)
According to a study from Penn State University, our skin color genes can be traced back to one family. The Bible revealed this truth. Noah and his family populated the entire earth. As each member went to different parts of the world, their skin color changed. Now there is genetic proof. This lines up with the historical account in Genesis. As Noah’s family moved separately to various parts of the world, they seeded the world with their genetic makeup. Their skin color changed, (primarily due to environmental factors) but the genetic makeup was the same. All of the various races (or skin colors) come from one family. The Bible teaches that we all come from one race (and in this context, we all come from one family).
“From one man he has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live.” (Acts 17:26, CSB)
Paul describes the fact that God used Noah’s family to make every nationality and placed them around the globe where they would live. Science continues to prove the Bible is true every day. The fact is that we all share one family.
