What Did Jesus Really Look Like?

What Did Jesus Really Look Like? is a simple thought culture watch reflection that tries to see what Jesus would really look like.

There is a new trend on Twitter – #HotJesus. It comes from the fact that the new movie Son of God (which is produced by the same people who did The Bible series on the History Channel last year) has a person (Diogo Morgado) playing Jesus who looks attractive. Some think it is great, but others (like CNN and Huffington Post) have questioned this approach.

So what did Jesus really look like? The History Channel showed look liked the real face of Jesus in an earlier series. What we know for sure is that Jesus was not white skinned with blue eyes. Instead, Jesus would have more in common with people who live in the Middle East than North America or Europe. We may look to the good looks of some actors as our model for what Jesus looked like. However, the Bible (and Jesus Himself) would not concentrate on such details. Instead, Jesus is concerned with change.

Which one would you go see if what He said and did would change your life?

It seems to me that we make Jesus into our image, just to make Him appealing enough to pay attention to.
