Lenten Reflection #15: Jesus Strengthens

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, HCSB)

Jesus is in the business of strengthening. His power – the power we need to accomplish everything we need in life – is strengthened when we are weak. In other words, when I feel like I can’t do anything, Jesus can help me get it done. He is the source of my strength. When I am empty, He fills me up. When I am on zero, He is my hero. When I feel like nothing, He is my everything. Jesus is in the business of taking what I don’t have and making it work. Just as He took a little fish and bread and was able to feed five thousand people, He can take what I have and multiply it. That is the kind of strength He has. He takes that strength and He empowers His followers to be able to accomplish everything that needs to be done.

Have you relied on Jesus as your strength? Ask Him to strengthen you. He has the power to do it.
