PEACE Making

PEACE Making is a simple thought on the fact that we should be peacemakers as Christians.

The peacemakers are blessed, for they will be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9, HCSB)

FIVE ELEMENTS TO MAKING PEACE

Pure – peace in purity, and repentance is necessary.

“There is no peace for the wicked,” says the Lord.” (Isaiah 48:22, HCSB)

Eternal – there is the contrast between worldly and eternal peace

“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful.” (John 14:27, HCSB)

Active – peace is not passive. The burden is on the mature party to take the first step toward peace

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy.” (James 3:17, HCSB)

Caring – peace is not cheap. It cost Jesus Christ His life to make peace.

and through Him to reconcile everything to Himself by making peace through the blood of His cross — whether things on earth or things in heaven.” (Colossians 1:20, HCSB)

Effective – peace is effective when we act as peacemakers in doing good works

For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them. So then, remember that at one time you were Gentiles in the flesh—called “the uncircumcised” by those called “the circumcised,” which is done in the flesh by human hands.” (Ephesians 2:10–11, HCSB)
