Make a simple request. “Help us.” (v.11)

1. Two simple words. In these words Asa acknowledged that he was powerless without God’s help. “Without Me, you can do nothing.”

2. God answers simple requests, not complicated ones. Many times our complicated situations can be solved by asking these two simple words.

We must confess that we will do it the way God wants it.

Rest on God’s provision. “We rest in you.” (v.11)

1. We must trust that God’s way is best.

CONCLUSION: What were the results:

It led to victory.

1. Egypt attacked Judah during the reign of Rehoboam, but that battle failed, probably because of his sins. Rehoboam did not show that he loved God, and that he had God’s heart in mind. However, Asa’s was God’s man for the generation. He followed and obeyed God. So when the time came for a certain battle in his life, God helped him. It would be a hard struggle. However, there was victory because of Asa’s faithfulness.

2. There would be peace from Egypt for 250 years.

2. The people came closer to God

Reform came to Israel.
