Science Watch: White Blood Cells + Acid = Stem Cells

This is a game changer. Scientists in Japan have discovered a process that creates stem cells after white blood cells are placed in acid. The video below is from the scientist who discovered this process. They are able to do this with mice. Soon, it may be possible to see the benefits of this process in creating new cells in humans. When I read this, I was amazed how science is starting to confirm what the Bible has taught, especially this verse:

“For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have appointed it to you to make atonement on the altar for your lives, since it is the lifeblood that makes atonement.” (Leviticus 17:11, HCSB)

Life is the blood. So the Bible shows very clearly there is a connection between blood and life. Science may reveal details about the connection between blood and how stem cells work. But in general, the Bible is clear about the way that life is sustained in the blood. Isn’t it amazing how God has created us in such a way with such complex system that sustains life? Science is only beginning to see the connections that God has already created in each and every person.
