Lenten Reflection 4 Jesus Talks

Lenten Reflection 4 Jesus Talks is a Lenten reflection which compares the importance of Jesus and when He talks to E.F. Hutton and when he talks.

“A cloud appeared, overshadowing them, and a voice came from the cloud: This is My beloved Son; listen to Him!” (Mark 9:7, HCSB)

When E.F. Hutton talks, people listen. Or at least that is what this commercial used to say. God told the people at Jesus’ baptism the same thing. He said: You want great advice about life, then I know a guy – My Son. When Jesus talks, you need to listen to Him.

What God told the people then, He also tells us now. You have a need in your life, let Jesus talk to you. You have a problem you can’t figure out, give Jesus a call. You don’t know which direction to turn in your life, listen to Jesus. Listen carefully to what Jesus says. Leave out all of the noise from the world and focus on what Jesus wants to say to you. Discover what He knows by reading His Word and listening in prayer. Because when Jesus talks, you should listen.
