Zombie King

Zombie King

“’Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last,  and the Living One. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades.'” (Revelation 1:17-18, HCSB)

From David Jeremiah‘s book Agents of the Apocalypse:

“…Even if there was a God, do you really think He would yank a zombie from a tomb and make him king?…”

This scene is set in the future, before Jesus Christ returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The skepticism in this statement is profound. Would God raise someone from the dead and make Him king?

The answer is yes. God did make His Son, who died and was raised to life, King. He will soon give Him the proper authority and honor due to Him to rule the world. The more thorough explanation between the phrase “Zombie King” and Jesus has already been written. There is also arguments between the difference between a zombie and lich – although that is just about semantics. Both a zombie and a lich are undead creatures. Jesus, when He resurrected from the dead was fully alive.

However, skepticism will remain. The phrase “Zombie King” only reveals the defiance people will have at the idea that God will place His Son on the throne in Jerusalem to rule the world. In fact, one doesn’t have to wait for Jesus to return. Skeptics abound everywhere today.

In today’s culture, which celebrates the undead in movies, television, books, and games, it will be hard for people to recognize the difference between a zombie and a truly resurrected king. It will take faith in God and the work of the Holy Spirit to help people overcome the cultural myths which prevent the truth from helping people.

The truth is simply this: The world needed saving. God sent His Son Jesus to save the world. The saving required His death. God rewarded His Son by raising Him from the dead and giving Him the authority and power to rule the world He saved. Yes, some will be upset at that idea. Yes, they will label Jesus the Zombie King. And they would be only partially right. Jesus is no zombie. But He is King.
