Top Ten Sources of Free Sermons
Top Ten Sources of Free Sermons is a list of the top ten sources I use for free sermons. These sources are used for sermon starters and to get more help about a sermon.
All of these websites provide sermon manuscripts. While all of these websites provide free sermons, you may have to register to use the website. Some provide more services as a premium service.
This website provides articles, videos, as well as sermons.
Logos Bible Software, run by the Faithlife Corporation, provides this website page where people have uploaded sermons for others to use.
SermonCentral is a website in a family of websites by the parent company Outreach.com. Once you register with your email, one can have free access if you become a “contributor.” You become a contributor when you upload forty sermons a year. This gives you the same access as a paid premium subscriber. I joined their premium services and had difficulty canceling that subscription. The company kept my credit card information and the profile page did not allow me to delete this information. I don’t know if they have yet fixed this problem.
This is an excellent resource for those who preach through the lectionary cycle. The website has an excellent Scripture index which can get you what you need. Each Scripture has its own page with links to a wide variety of resources for sermon research. These links do include sites with sermons.
Own by the Southern Baptist Convention, LifeWay is their publishing arm. At the link, one can find a brief list of sermons by a series of pastors.
Desiring God is a ministry of John Piper. The website provides articles, free e-books, as well as over thirty years of sermons. These sermons are indexed in a variety of ways.
Bible Hub features topical, Greek and Hebrew study tools, plus concordances, commentaries, dictionaries, sermons, and devotionals. This website has a collection of over 88,000 sermons and Bible studies.
This website lists a few pastors who have posted their sermons. The list of pastors are not long, and the list of sermons are not exhaustive. However, it is a good website to find some sermons.
Like SermonCentral.com, Preaching.com has a set of sermons as well as sermon illustrations. They have an advanced search feature that allows you to filter your searches. Likewise, one can search using the lectionary as well. This is a useful website to search for sermons.
This website is the digital ministry of LifeChurch.tv and the location for free sermons. These sermons include promotional graphics, video countdowns, video illustrations, as well as sermon transcripts and handouts. This is an excellent resource for pastors who need a video series preached by other pastors.
Bonus: Dean Hawk Ministries
This website allows you to download transcripts, powerpoints, and small group study guides for free. All you have to do is register and then check them out. You can make a donation to help with the ministry.
Extra Bonus: My blog on Patheos
I have posted a variety of sermons which I have preached over the last fifteen years. I try to post original content. The sermons are categorized by Scripture.
