Static Cling Ghosts

What do ghost and static electricity have in common?   Apparently, a whole lot!  This week’s Just Ask Jay is all about Static Cling Ghosts!  Thanks to Bill and Cathy for this week’s questions.

Two years ago,I had awoken to a static noisy sound. I went into my family room, and my tv was on,and I swear to god I turned it off before bed. So,I turned it off,and as I started walking away,it came on again. I suddenly heard this really loud voice. It was pretty awful sounding like someone was in pain. Never happened again. Gave me the creeps. Im always worried that it will happen again. Any clues Jay?

Hi Jay, last night around 2 a.m. my husband and i awoke to the sound of static (like from a tv or radio). He asked me if i left the tv on. He took the remote and turned the tv on, then off. We heard the static again. He started walking towards the sound and noticed that it was coming from a crank radio used when without hydro and hadn’t been used in 8 years. He picked it up and all the power buttons were off. He put it in the bathroom and noticed the number 601 on the screen. When he came back to bed, we heard voices coming from it, adult and kids, so he went and turned the volume down. In the morning, i said that maybe the battery back up made it start. So i opened the battery cover and one battery was missing. This seems very strange to me. Is it possible someone was trying to get his attention or mine? Thank you in advance for you input?
