From one of my pen pals, a terrific priest I first met on Twitter. One day, I hope we’ll meet in person.

His reply to the question, “Why do you remain Catholic?” is short and sweet.

From Fr. Richard Gonzales, Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas:
The reason I have stayed in the Catholic Church is quite simple.  It may be a cliché, but it is true, the Catholic Church has the fullness of truth.  The Keys of the Kingdom were passed on to Peter.  The Apostles were called by Jesus himself.  Jesus commissioned the Apostles to be His hands, feet and voice in the world.  If we choose not to follow the successor of Peter and to be a part of the Church that Jesus instituted, then we choose to separate ourselves from everything that Jesus has done for us, and has called us to be.  I love and embrace Holy Mother Church.  I could never reject Her.
Lucky parishioners …
