These two pictures are on the bank of the Styr River in Ukraine, south of Lviv (Львів). I consider them both among the best pictures I’ve taken. They both capture a glimpse of everyday, simple life in a village on a Sunday afternoon after Church.
The first one is of one of my students carrying a watermelon from the village store to the river. My whole class ate it while sitting on an old wooden suspension bridge. The second one is a family having a picnic while several people farther back get in the river.
These are the village store and Church which was getting painted
It was a beautiful and peaceful place!
