This year at my parish we celebrated Our Lady of Guadalupe for four days, imitating the four days Our Lady appeared to Saint Juan Diego from December 9th to the 12th in 1531. We began December 9th with confessions and a Mass for the Feast of Saint Juan Diego. On December 10th the Juan XXIII Movement organized a retreat for the whole community. On Saturday we began at 7pm with the blessing of the new Danza Azteca of the parish and they danced on and off for the next four hours. While they rested we read Scripture readings, drank hot chocolate, socialized and ate sweet bread. After a Rosary at 11, we sung the Mananitas at midnight with over 800 people. On the 12th we had a very well attended Mass with a Mariachi band followed by procession led by the Danza Azteca. After the procession we had a nice gathering with food, music and dancing. Here are some pictures showing the highlights.
