I took this great picture on the feast of Saint Rose of Lima in the town Julio C. Tello, more commonly known as “El Puente de Lurin.” This is the parish close to where I grew up in Peru. The parish is named after a great Peruvian saint and ever year there is a procession to celebrate her feast. These guys got the best seats in town!

The mayor of town prepares to symbolically weld some material together since he funded the roof of the new church. This nice gesture towards the Church gets him lots of votes!
