5.    Parish Service

Don’t forget about your parish! Perhaps you have a talent for singing or for organizing or for sharing the faith with little children. There are always many opportunities for service in our own parish communities. If you don’t know where to start, ask your priest, the next time you see him after Mass, who you should contact He would be more than happy to help you make a connection.

Oftentimes we see our singleness as a negative and find ourselves overwhelmed by all of these empty hours that sometimes creep up on us – as if it is some reflection on us that we don’t have someone to spend our every waking moment with! But with a little discerning prayer, we can use these opportunities to build the faith in us and in others. What are some positive ways that you have found to use your time to build the Kingdom?
