5. Remember that the passion of Christ ends always in the joy of the resurrection of Christ, so when you feel in your own heart the suffering of Christ, remember the resurrection has to come. Never let anything so fill you with sorrow as to make you forget the joy of Christ risen.
When the loss of a marriage occurs, suffering and grief is experienced on many levels—physical, mental, emotional and moral—and it can seem impossible to heal from such a deep, deep hurt. But despite the fact that healing takes time, it will come.
The crosses we bear are blessings because when we suffer, we learn, we grow, we change, we become wiser and more loving. We become more like Christ. Suffering can be the door to new life. We become gold purified by the fire. There will be a day when you can close this chapter of your life and lay it to rest. That is when you will rise from the ashes, when your resurrection will come.
