This is also an important tool for healing. Keeping a journal is similar to talking with your confidant, and can be your constant companion when your confidant cannot.
Can’t sleep at 3am because you are overwhelmed by angry thoughts? Get out your journal and start getting your thoughts out of your head and your heart and onto paper. You can write everything you’re feeling without fear of judgment or retribution.
The best thing about keeping a journal is the retro-affect. After a few years go by you can go back and re-read it and be amazed at the progress you’ve made.
