The Ultimate Guide For SLEEPLESS DADS

The Ultimate Guide For SLEEPLESS DADS 2019-03-10T08:02:21-05:00

Dads, you are called to be a servant. Once you understand this principle, you’ll probably not get six continuous hours of good sleep ever again. And if you do, you’ll never admit it because it will make your wife mad for the broken-up sleep she got. Welcome to the world of sleepless dads!

Listen to this important podcast from the series;

The Mark of a Dad.

The Heart of a Father is Caring, it is Discerning and Helpful. The Heart of a Dad is Persistent and Full of Faith!

I want to thank and honor all the fathers who have persevered and have raised their kids because being a Father is often a thankless job. On top of that, there are expectations to be able to do it all, to be a super dad!

Dads are expected to be the family doctor, the counselor and the caregiver. They need to function on little sleep. They need to be up before the kids and go to bed after them. And then, if they are not a single dad, they are expected to put on their caring husband hat. These men are expected to do it all with a smile and a kind attitude.

Being a father is tough. I know many dads often feel undervalued, unappreciated, and unrecognized. From your kids who don’t recognize all that you do to your wife who does not always appreciate all that you do. Even from society who often doesn’t value the role you have as a father.

Being a dad is hard!

But even though it is hard, God has designed the Heart of a father to be a reflection of his own heart, not that women aren’t created in the image of God, they are, but we see God even use how a father loves and cares for his child as an example of his own love and care for his people.

Psalm 103:13 – As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

There is something special about how a man cares for a child whether that child is natural born, adopted or just someone that the man has become a father to. The heart of a father is to love.

Now, I know there are people reading this today that come from all kinds of different places. From guys who have raised their kids, to fathers who are helping to raise kids right now and things are very difficult with your child or children, to young men who have not had kids yet!

Whatever place you find yourself, I want to encourage you today. There are many things that we are unable to control in our circumstances or in other people, even our kids, but God has called us to have his heart and I believe His heart is well reflected in the heart of a man who cares for his children, who is a father at heart. So even if you don’t have kids, look for that person who you can be a father to and mentor and shepherd and love.
