    He was a teacher and eventually chancellor at my university. On one occasion, he passed by an empty auditorium where some jazz music students were jamming. he asked if he could sit in with them. Three hours later, the auditorium was packed with over three hundred students. I missed that one, but I did meet him on a few occasions. The man had class.
