CNN Completely Loses Its Mind

CNN Completely Loses Its Mind March 20, 2015

If anybody can explain how this crazy amalgam of 80s sitcom intro and cheesy action movie trailer wound up on the CNN site, perhaps the ghost of Edward R. Murrow will sleep more peacefully tonight. Seriously, this is the weirdest thing I have ever seen a news network do:

And is it just me, or is this Rick Snyder guy (never heard of him) auditioning for the role of Ted Bundy in an upcoming biopic. That is the scariest stare I have seen for some time.

Adult Swim (Cartoon Network’s late-night programming for stoners) ran this a few months ago as a prank on its viewers. Apparently, if you watched when it aired, you started out thinking that they were airing reruns of some 80s sitcom you’d never heard of before . . . and then the rest happened. It went viral, so I’d understand if CNN linked to it back then–they do that “trending now” pap sometimes. But why the heck are they linking to it -now?-

Watch the vid. CNN spun it with politicians instead of the original.
      Absolutely brilliant.

a link to the original Too Many Cooks:

and here’s the Mad TV sketch that must have patially inspired it

6 minutes. A new record for watching CNN.

I fully support their jettisoning the pretense of news and joining the world of uncomfortable psychedelia in the vein of Adult Swim.

Rick Snyder is the governor of Michigan. They took that little clip from his Super Bowl “Comeback Kid” ad from last year.

They could have just as easily used the footage of him in the pool; he was mocked mercilessly for that bit.

Looks like legalizing pot in Washington D.C. turned out to be a really bad idea.

Shouldn’t this rate the “whiskey tango foxtrot” tag? Though admittedly, I wasn’t uttering those exact words while watching it. I hope as other commenters pointed out this is an [adult swim] thing.
