Among Republican Catholics 51 percent stand with Francis on Laudato Si.
It still means, of course, that there is a lot of work to do to get people to decouple from the Right Wing Noise Machine and think with the Church instead. But I would not have guessed that anything like majority of the GOP’s rank and file were heeding him. So that’s good news. This could well explain the edge of unhinged panic and malice in the propaganda from the Noise Machine. They are not having it all their way and they know it.
