The Windows 10 Atonement Upgrade has been achieved!

The Windows 10 Atonement Upgrade has been achieved! July 29, 2015

Windows 8 is now a thing of the past.  So far, Windows 10 seems to be fine.  If I suddenly disappear for hours, days, or weeks, it will be because I was wrong about Windows 10 being fine. Prayers, please, as join millions of other guinea pigs in this grand experiment by Microsoft to atone for the manifold sins of Windows 8.

“May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, glorified, loved and preserved now and forever. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us, Saint Jude worker of Miracles, pray for us, Saint Jude helper and keeper of the hopeless, pray for us, Thank you Saint Jude.” That’s the only prayer that comes to mind in conjunction with use of Windows.

    Good luck!

Genuine question: Does anyone even think about their operating system anymore? There was a time when it was important, but given the shift of basically everything to the web, do we have any expectations for what an operating system should do?

As far as I can tell, I only think about my operating system when something goes wrong with it, much like the radiator in a car.

I think that Microsoft, Apple and so are redoing/updating/ screwing around with not because we as users ask for ti, but because they can and they can charge us for it. I think about my operating systems, and I use both Apple at home, Microsoft and Apple at the college only when things don’t work, as you said. The tech folks at the college told me that the reality of all the “updates” was essentially bill for the typical user and not all that much for the “super-user”. By the way I agree with Mary E. below a prayer to St. Jude for the hopeless is in order for all updates.

All Windows 8 users have thought long and hard about their operating system and have come to hate it with the white hot fury of a thousand suns.

Thank you for being sacrificial lamb on behalf of the rest of us-I typically wait a minimum of 6 months to upgrade Microsoft, sometimes longer if horror stories warrant.

Thanks Mark for your wonderful humor. Musing is in one of the best gifts left from the ancients.

They can have my Windows 7 when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

You do know Microsoft funds Planned Parenthood, don’t you? I’m a subscriber to Life Decisions International, which keeps a list of corporations which fund PP, except where those funds are the result of matching employee donations. Microsoft has been on it for years.
