Nope. Not these days.  But it is worth noting that there are non-Catholics in the Roman Martyrology.  That’s because they were canonized by acclamation.  These days, the process is ordered much more carefully and the purpose is to show us what a healthy Catholic looks like.  Canonizing a non-Catholic doesn’t really serve that purpose.  That’s not to say there aren’t saint outside the visible Catholic communion. Read more

‘Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world’ That’s because Jesus Christ is God and it still fills the devil with fury that his time is short. “Short?  It’s been two thousand years!” You’d think that a skeptical culture of Brights, so used to speaking in terms of the universe’s 13.5 billion years and the unthinkable ages it took to create the Himalayas would recall that all of human history is just the blink of an eye.  With the... Read more

I’m a long time lurker on your blog and have never even commented or corresponded with you. However, today amongst the anxiety over an extended family member’s alcohol addiction issues and relapses I felt a prompting I’m attributing to the Holy Spirit to contact you in the hopes your readers may be able to provide some help. This family member has been through extensive residential treatment, worked with a private counselor, tried AA, etc., but nothing seems to break this... Read more

I’d like to add your blog Catholic and Enjoying It! to http://PlanetCatholic.com. I’m creating an aggregator site for all of the Catholic blogs out there. Planet Catholic pulls text from the RSS of Catholic blogs and publishes an excerpt from each blog post (the first 250 characters) and then provides a link to the rest of the post. I’m emailing you for permission to add your blog. Also, I’ve been running a wiki called The Catholic Guide. The intent is... Read more

I teach religion at a Catholic high school- as part of my pro-life presentation I copied some fact sheet materials from National Right to Life. The descriptions of the various abortion techniques drew some unexpected howls of protest from a vocal minority of my students- they suspected the information because they claimed the language used was heavily biased to the pro-life side of things. I took on their complaints and showed some Fr, Pavone youtube videos with actual abortion tools... Read more

As passionately dedicated to immigration reform as Republican leaders are to doing anything serious about abortion. What’s hilarious to me, when I look in on Dem sites where the base get together to chew the fat is that they are as frustrated by their leaders as conservatives are about theirs. The talk, just like among conservatives, is all about how the other Team is ruthless and has it together and are just about to wipe the home team out, while... Read more
