has a pretty good interview with Archbishop Edwin O’Brien about the Legionaries. I’m sure glad it’s not my job to have to sort that mess out. O’Brien seems to have a pretty good idea of what needs to be done. From what little I can tell, Maciel seems to have been an organizational genius who was especially masterful at creating organizations designed to protect him. Sort of like a virus.
