Faith in Grace

Faith in Grace

We should not be surprised that God gives us wonderful graces in the midst of suffering that we had asked him to spare us. He knows best how to apportion his grace for our good and for his glory.

I am clinging to that today. I have had some unsettling physical symptoms develop in the last couple months and today I am scheduling an appointment to get them evaluated by a professional. We had hoped the troublesome indications would disappear on their own, but they have not. Taking a deep breath over here and praying for courage. This sort of thing is a sure test of what I really believe. It might be nothing, it could be something. Whatever it is, I may not worry (Matthew 6:27), but I must rejoice (James 1:2) in this seeming trial and allow it to illuminate God’s character to me (Romans 8:28).

“God, the Lord, is my strength;

he makes my feet like the deer’s;

he makes me tread on my high places.”

-Habakkuk 3:19
