Modern Witch
Overview: This is actually going to be a bit of a wild card week for those of us who are magically oriented. While the rest of society will just be feeling energy surges and weird breakdowns thanks to the first Harvest Moon of the year, witches will be given the opportunity to tug at the strings of fate in a way we don’t normally get too. I highly recommend checking out Durgadas’s post from yesterday about the Pisces Full Harvest Moon. He is going to give you a lot more information than I will be able to in my weekly post. I also highly recommend that you work with grounding and lower soul (Root and Sacral Chakras) stones like Black Tourmaline, Carnelian, Hematite, Lodestone, and Iron. The reason for this is that we WILL have energy surges and moments that where our psychic field will be a highly charged and it will be easy to cast unconscious spells. Grounding your energy out once or twice a day this week will drastically help you reduce the chance of chaos as a result of these power surges. Again, this goes doubly for those who are magic(k)ally inclined.
If your Sun, Moon, or Rising signs are in one or more of the following elements, or your birth chart has a heavy placement (four or more planets) in an element, you are likely to interpret this week’s astrology differently than others. Let’s take a look at how this week is going to affect the elements within.
Earth: Those with dominant earth energy in their chart will find this week to be super productive as long as they don’t entertain fanciful distractions or spend too much time thinking about what they don’t have. This is going to be a week where tapping into your spirituality for conviction will benefit you immensely. Meditation for the week; How does what I am creating serve my spiritual path?
Air: Those with dominant air energies should beware of locking horns with others this week as there will be a sense that the emotions of others are too strong to comfortably handle and that others aren’t fast/efficient enough. You are likely to run into frustration in group situations and have less trust in others. This is a good week to do art and to let go of any desire to fit into the rest of the world. Meditation for the week: What trust issues am I seeing in my life and how should I address them?
Fire: Fire-folk are going to have a doozy this week because it will feel like the engine is either flooded and won’t turn over or that you’re already on the highway going 90MPH. It would be a good idea to savor the moments of peace and to choose discipline and service when you can’t find a break. The good news, however, is that when you are on the highway, your magic is likely to be incredibly potent thanks to Mars and Jupiter this week. Meditation for this week: Am I burning like a forest fire or am I burning like a forge?
Water: Those of us with dominant water energies are going to be deeply effected this week by just about everything. There will be plenty of good that can come from this but I would expect to experience several emotional ups and downs throughout the week, all culminating in rough release of energy on Saturday as the Moon moves into Aries. You are going to be more empathic this week and relationships will likely feel strained if you are only bringing your emotions to the table. Slow yourself down, work on self-care, and find a way to forgive when things bubble up, otherwise they will turn into venom. Meditation for the week: Does this emotion bring me wholeness or isolate me from wholeness?

The Moon is in Capricorn and Mars is getting love from Saturn today. We are likely going to be work and project focused today and what we throw ourselves into should yield some results in the immediate future. Excellent day for block buster magic, to shed skin/release unwanted patterns, and to begin something new. Work with stones like Clear Quartz, Lapis-Lazuli, Topaz, and Moldavite. Expect a bit of the unexpected today as the Aquarius Moon squares Uranus and the Sun holds opposition to Neptune. Today has weird written all over it and is the first day in the week where we will likely experience those power surges/outages I mentioned in the overview. It would be a good idea to keep a divination system close by to “check-in” with the powers that be before pouring yourself into any one thing. Magically speaking it isn’t going to be a day of outward breakthroughs, but it has all the fixings for stimulating internal change. Magic for truth, justice, and cord-cutting are a go at this time. Today will be a lot smoother than Tuesday but the Aquarius Moon is going to keep us occupied with the social. This is a little eerie as today we remember those who died in the Sept 11 World Trade Center terrorist attack. Expect a degree of scrutiny to be present as everyone reflects on changes since then. The Moon is also in harmony with Jupiter which will leave us feeling invigorated and open to discussion about how to move forward in many aspects of life. It is a good day for remembrance work, love work, and for magic related to inspiration. Work with stones like Moonstone, Amber, Obsidian, Rhodonite, Sodalite, and Kyanite. This id going to be a high-energy day and the beginning of a four day trend. The Moon moves into Pisces early in the morning and then becomes super-resonant with Uranus. This is going to mean that we are likely going to be highly intuitive, psychically sensitive, and if you are someone who speaks to spirits, expect a major amount of traffic. This is going to be like taking the lid off of a pot of rice that’s been cooking. A lot of steam and heat will be released starting now so do what you can to enjoy it. Self-care is going to be important. Mars also is Square Jupiter which is going add wood to fires of your creativity. Here we go folks! This is not a drill! Tonight the first of the Harvest Moons rises high, in the particularly occult and psychically driven sign of Pisces, and the whole day is going to be about the pieces falling into place for what magic it brings. The Moon will start off conjunct Neptune and will be empowered by Mercury going conjunct with Venus. Today is really at the corps about love and partnership both in the physical and spiritual worlds. What is unique about this is that thanks to the extra psychic energies, we are likely to see acts of love and partnership between the worlds. Expect more energy surges and don’t be surprised if you find yourself in need of physical/sexual attention at this time. Excellent night for divination and otherworldly contact. The Full Moon vibe is going to be heavy in the air this weekend but by Sunday evening things should start to feel lighter in mind, body, and spirit. Here’s the kicker though, Mars will be in opposition with Neptune on Saturday and because of all that heavy, watery Full Moon energy, we are likely to find ourselves feel confused, overwhelmed, or even ill-equipped to handle a situation that will arise. Do not surrender to the frustration, it only feels deep because you’re likely still rolling with the Moon vibes. On Sunday when the Moon moves into Aries, the emotional and psychic fog will lift and you will be a free agent. Good weekend for sex magic and for anything related to dream work.
