I slogged through snow and slosh to catch the bus out to Midway Airport, picked up my one way rental from Alamo, drove back, then thanks to the mercies of a half dozen friends from the seminary quickly packed up and was on the road by noon. Made it out of the storms and just past Cleveland when I felt I’d done all I could and spent the night in a motel. The next day I just gutted on through to Newton and my own bed.
Jan and auntie recognized me. But the cats were suspicious.
I’m not quite settled back in. But then it’s a holding pattern. On Thursday we take off for Rohatsu (for nonZendoid readers that’s the day Buddha’s Great Awakening is celebrated & is the occasion for Zen retreats) at Senexet House in Connecticut. Then we’re back for ten days or so and off to LA to spend Christmas with family.
Three students have gotten me their papers, so far. Nineteen to go…
