This year today is Holy Saturday.

And on this day, today, in 1945 Buchenwald was liberated.

The person who put the video clip up at Youtube asks rhetorically how this compares with objective reporting today. I’m not sure what that individual means, but it appears to be some snarky assertion that somehow today you can’t get such reporting.

Consummate b.s., of course.

But, I don’t feel the desire to go there. We have more important fish to fry.

This has been a rough week and hints of death hang over over it. I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on Maundy Thursday and even celebrate a Unitarian Universalist communion at our Meeting House. The next night I’ve sat with dear friends for a Passover Seder.

And then I found what today is, as represented in that video clip.

Absence. Lack. Sorrow. Loss. Death.

I’m so ready for some resurrection…

I’m ready for Easter.

But then, perhaps that longing is part of the deal too.

And, having to wait in the dark…
