Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! November 24, 2011

What’s wrong with our current version of Thanksgiving?

Oh, dear, let me count the ways…

That said,

Of course there’s nothing wrong with giving thanks.

We should.

We should constantly.

And setting special days aside is totally fine.

We just attached it to the wrong story…

A small invite. Go a tad deeper than the Pilgrim Indian story, although that should be part of the picture, as well. We need to face the complexity of our human lives, and the good for one becoming the ill for another.

And, accepting it all.

(You can’t change, you can’t get better, by which I mean we, by which I mean I, unless we see it all…)

The good and the bad woven so fine.

Facing it all.

Facing it all…

And then. Like Job finding the face of God. Like Arjuna confronted by what is…

In that moment?

What else can we be, but thankful?
