Sunday Afternoon, Late

Sunday Afternoon, Late 2011-12-18T17:01:33-08:00

Not quite five, and dark…

Jan and auntie and I are sitting together at the Rehab. Well, Jan & I are sitting, auntie is reclining regally. Jan is listening to Wilson Pickett on her Ipod while knitting, auntie listening to a Vampire romance novel and me, well, I’m posting here at the blog…

This is a higher end facility, and for that we’re grateful. But auntie is very unhappy now that the dime has dropped she may end up spending Christmas here. We hope it isn’t going to happen, but, she’s mending slowly. For her, while everyone is nice, and attentive, it pushes buttons, recalling her childhood in the orphanage. Not good memories…

We haven’t dwelled upon this, but auntie’s cat is not happy either, and as she has a wicked streak, we fear some cat revenge if auntie isn’t home soon…

Me, I’m tired. Not quite enough sleep last night. And then that major adrenaline rush from today’s Christmas pageant. (It was great. The kids were magnificent. And this year baby Jesus was a delightful infant girl. But lots of balls in the air. And I’m aware of most of them…) And then the body crash…

Nodded a bit. That may be enough to get me through to bedtime…

We’ll sit here a while more, then a little grocery shopping and back to the house.
