Like Sand Slipping Through Spread Fingers June 1, 2016

Just had coffee with the president of the congregation I’m currently serving as interim minister. I not only like him, I admire him. I think our time together has made me a tiny bit better person.

And, I’m having this amazing feeling washing over me how this part of my life is slipping away more rapidly than sand through spread fingers.

This was our last visit before my last Sunday before I really do end my life as a parish minister, twenty-four as called and settled (to use the jargon of this trade) and one year as an interim.

Such wonder.

It all flies by so fast. Trite words. True experience.

It is all so mysterious. More complex words, but still falling short of what I’ve experienced, and I wish I could convey…

Let me try again.

I am so grateful.
