The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread

As it turns out, it was today, the 7th of July, in 1928, some eighty-nine years ago, the Chillicothe Baking company, in Missouri, sold their first commercially sliced bread. They used a machine invented by Otto Rohwedder.

Two years later, Wonder Bread took the idea national.
