Actually, what I deleted were my Google ads.
I’m completely comfortable with advertising. I have no brief against Google.
However, the way they target advertising based upon content in my blog has them repeatedly posting advertising from people and organizations with which I find myself very uncomfortable being associated. For instance there have been almost continuous advertisements for a “Zen” teacher who appears to have made up her title. Might be a great spiritual teacher, I wouldn’t know. But by any reasonable construction of the technical term “Zen teacher,” she ain’t one.
I like irony as much as the next person. But sometimes, ya just gotta take a stand.
When I can figure out how to block advertising I find distasteful I will re-enter the marketplace.
The Amazon ads refer to my own books or books I’ve recommended. So, you will continue to have opportunities to spend money from this blog…
