Running Up on Christmas

Slept in for the first time in I don’t know how long. I liked it. Should try that again, sometime.

Much work to do today, but at a bit of a leisurely pace, until this evening, of course. Auntie needs a visit at the rehab. And, I only have a germ of a germ of an idea for this evening.

Speaking of which, perhaps I’ll see some of you at one of the services at First Unitarian. Five o’clock the family service, I’ll be doing the homily. Or, the more meditative nine o’clock, with Mary Margaret Earl doing the honors. The music promises to be of the knock yr socks off variety…

If I’ve got my calculations right last night was the longest, and now, there’s a turning, and slowly, slowly, the light will return.

I heard someone say they weren’t much for faith, but hope, they understand hope.

This all but imperceptible turning, promised by ages past, but at this moment, only a promise kept like a secret in my heart, that for me is hope.

And the meaning of the season…
