Innocents Abroad, Or, How the Heck Do People Sell Books These Days?

Innocents Abroad, Or, How the Heck Do People Sell Books These Days? 2012-04-12T11:31:44-07:00

(Available at Amazon at a pre-publication deep discount!) I was visiting with a friend who is a social media expert and somehow the subject of my forthcoming book came up. It does, a lot, my friends have noted…

I’ve washed through the very last time the final, final version of If You’re Lucky Your Heart Will Break: Field Notes from a Zen Life. It’s very exciting. I’ve been told all that remains is the back cover. And when that’s done they’ll let me look at it, but I don’t think I’m able to make any further changes…

Anyway my friend said I should now have my own webpage. Which I admit confused me. I have a pretty extensive presence on the web through the church and the sangha, and I even have a presence on Youtube. Heck, friends, I’m pretty sure friends, have even got me an article on Wikipedia.

So, why, I wonder a webpage?

I know it has something to do with the way things are today, and I know that they aren’t what they used to be. One of my small attempts at being witty was when I was shown the cover for my book telling my editor that it is lovely, just the perfect cover to be face out on a bookstore shelf, if, that is, there were any bookstores left…

But, I have to admit I feel increasingly at sea in this new age of social media…

Brave new world, indeed…
