A BGLT Pride Worship Service in Rhode Island

A BGLT Pride Worship Service in Rhode Island 2011-11-01T15:05:18-07:00

This afternoon I’ll be joining clergy from across the state in a worship service kicking off Rhode Island’s Gay Pride Week. the following is the public announcement from the chair of our Religious Coalition for Marriage Equality in Rhode Island. I think it is worth a read. And if you’re in the area, I hope to see you at three…

The eyes and the ears of the State of Rhode Island will be upon us for a brief moment this Sunday. This is our opportunity to stand and make a public statement as religious leaders that all people are beings of infinite value and worthy of respect.  No feature of our humanity is defective.  My sexual orientation, gay or straight, is God’s will and has God’s blessing.

Please join us for an Interfaith Prayer Service led by Clergy from the Rhode Island Religious Coalition for Marriage Equality will be held on June 13, 2010 to begin the observance of Pride Week in Rhode Island.  Let us stand in God’s presence and affirm what others condemn; to celebrate God’s gift of human diversity.  The event will feature clergy and congregants from numerous denominations and faith traditions and will be a celebration of the GLBT Community in prayer and song.  This festive prayer service will “kick off” Rhode Island Pride Week on a loving and affirmative note.
