Women’s Issues

Women’s Issues November 10, 2011
Listening to these women recite their poetry, I am reminded of the many issues we face as women both nationally and internationally; culturally; religiously; politically; etc.  Not to say that men don’t face these issues as well – many times directly related to those we consider oppressive to women – since one of my core beliefs deals with the concept that any sexism infiltrating our humanity will harm both genders irrevocably.  I’m sure that some of these poems will not resonate with all of you.  Some of the language may offend.  Some may inspire.  I’m curious to read comments on your reactions and thoughts.  Not only about what you disagree with –  but also the things that resonate – the things that you might feel relate to you or offend you due to your Mormonism, your ethnicity, your family of origin, your personality, your gender, your sense of self, etc.  I would very much enjoy reading your reactions…
